Dew Drops in the Morning

When I went outside this morning to greet the day it was a beautiful 69º and mostly cloudy. As I looked around, a retreating misty covering of fog seemed to blend in the rough edges of the background and mute the cacophony of nearby traffic sounds.

After an intense week of science instruction, figuring out technology with my new laptop, babysitting my grand dog, and other necessary things like paying bills and getting groceries, I felt like I needed a re-boot before I went to face my canvas and paints. This was when I decided to go on a walk . . .or in my case, a roll to our nearby park.

Right now in Texas we are as close as we get to a Fall season. In addition to the milder temperatures, we do have a few trees that change pretty fall colors of yellow and orange with an occasional

glimpse of beautiful red to offset the brown leaves that just drop and flutter to the ground.

The lingering mist gathered in dew drops on branches, blades of grass, and this really pretty spiderweb; nature’s diamonds on silken strands. I contemplated how it is similar to all the varied fragments of our lives where we contribute our best shiny moments to piece together into the masterpiece of our life.

Taking a moment to just witness the beauty and color in the nature surrounding me and the peacefulness of the early morning, is a refreshing deep cleansing breath.

Now, it’s time to paint.
