PAINTING AS A PARAPLEGIC

“Degallery International Art Competition”

In November 2021, my larger signature oil painting was on exhibit at Degallery Fine Arts Gallery in Bryan, Tx. I was honored to receive the Degallery International Art Competition award for 2nd place in the adult division for my oil painting, "There Came An Early Snow" (which depicts a scene from my childhood memories in Hamilton, New York). There were 210 entries from around the world and seven judges who were from different locations in Europe. A special thank you to Dr. Dary Dega for all her hard work in organizing and hosting the competition.

With all the physical challenges I contend with . . . partial use of only one shaky hand, poor range of motion, and well, chronic pain, this painting took me four years to complete. I found a sense of fulfillment in layering minute details and colors using a very small brush which was easier to control. This painting is for sale as both the original and a high quality print.
